Historical novel tells the tale of little known woman who was a leader during one of the most important events in history.
Women important in history have often been written out of the history books. Author Kaia Van Zandt shares the story of Hypatia, the woman philosopher and mathmetician who was at the helm of the Great Library of Alexandria when it burned in her debut historical fiction novel Written in the Ashes.
Kaia shares her belief that women having been written out of history has shaped how women have been perceived and valued throughout history. It even informs how women are viewed and perceived today. Kaia is on a mission to bring to light important women in history to inspire change in the roles and opportunities available to women today.
In this video conversation, you’ll discover how Kaia came to learn and care about Hypatia.
Kaia shares her own journey and how she came to build her own copywriting business.
Kaia’s newest project is just as exciting as her book. She is creating a documentary film about little known women in history and she is interviewing women of all ages about their passions and what they want to do to contribute to and change the world. Her premise for the documentary is that women care passionately about a variety of causes important to them and that, right now, at this moment in time, women are gaining the courage to step into the roles they were born to play and making a difference in leadership positions, in their communities, in their own small businesses and in their families.
